Freundin Magazin / Editorial Illustration
For freundin Verlag GmbH, a publishing house by the Hubert Burda Media established in Germany, I was asked to illustrate for their last page “Eine Frage zum Schluss” / “A final question”.
First pitch
In this column, the reader gets asked a personal question that makes them reflect on theirselves. This question is highlighted by an illustrated answer, as well as (optionally) a quote from the illustrator.
"What pain just won't let go of you?" was the question I should answer to in form of an illustration.
In the end, however, the client decided to go in a direction with a more optimistic perspective, from which this illustration accompanied by this answer emerged:
"Illustrating has enabled me to cope with my lifelong experience of racism and enables me to use it as a motivating force."
