Her essay „On the tip of my tongue“, writer and educator Sahej Marwah (@sahejm) starts with her moving from India to Brussels. Since then, she began to reflect about the different languages she speaks and asks herself, which of them feels most like her mother tongue.

Red cornflowers are Brussels national flowers. In India, it´s the lotus flower. They divide the authors head and it´s hard for her to see clear. I wanted to depict the beauty of languages while transporting Sahej´s feeling of being torn and her lack of belonging.

poco.lit. is a platform for postcolonial literatures in the broadest sense. Every week, you can find new reviews, interviews or essays on this bilingual platform. poco.lit.’s goal is to highlight postcolonial texts and topics to create more visibility for them.
